A timeless and authentic country pub. Family-run alongside our family farm, we aim to be one of the best country pubs in Essex. Nestled among the Crouch Valley’s vineyards in Stow Maries, near Maldon. Serving our own beef and lamb, local English wines, traditional ales, and offering 4 beautiful rooms.

Our farm to your fork

We are farmers here in Stow Maries and we serve our own grass-fed salt marsh beef and lamb. Other meat and ingredients are carefully sourced from local producers and freshly cooked by our chef Lee.

We’re farmers that bought our local country pub. Our food is hearty country pub fare that you would normally see in the farmhouse kitchen. Nothing fancy, but we really care about the quality of the produce we serve. We have farmed on Morris Farm in Stow Maries, next door to the Prince Of Wales, since the 60s.

Handpicked local suppliers and producers

All the lamb and beef we serve at the Prince of Wales comes from our farm. The other meat and produce that we serve is very carefully selected to meet the standards we expect on our own farm.

Stow Maries’ English Wine from the Crouch Valley

Among the vineyards of the Crouch Valley. Enjoy vineyard walks or wine tasting and drink local English wine in the pub.

Footpaths through the vineyards leave from the pub garden. We serve Stow Maries wine from Hollands in the pub and we run wine tastings and wine walks.
